L’exposition Antoine Perrot, peintures porte-bonheur est l’occasion de réaffirmer que la peinture, quand elle sort de ses gonds et s’ingénie à construire une « autobiographie collective », se saisit d’un espace de partage et acquiert une dimension sociale. En privilégiant la couleur des matériaux et des objets du quotidien, c’est-à-dire la couleur des autres, ces œuvres invitent le « bonheur » à se joindre à la table des débats, des disputes et des conciliations, des majorités et des minorités, des géographies et des histoires, des convenances et des usages : à se frotter à la démocratie.

The exhibition Antoine Perrot, Fortune Paintings is an opportunity to reaffirm that painting, when flying off the handle and going out of its way to establish a ‘collective autobiography’, seizes a space of sharing and gains a social dimension. By giving privilege to the colours of everyday objects and materials, meaning the colours of others, these works invite the notion of happiness to join the forum of debate for disputes and reconciliation, majorities and minorities, geography and history, mores and manners – in other words – to tangle with democracy.
